The following is a
summary of main changes to Postcodes Express
for the July 2003 Edition.
- Interface
- Flyover help.
- More right click menus.
- New series of keyboard shortcuts (eg
<Shift>V to view values,
<Shift>S to view selections..).
- Current Selections, Labels and View held
with map and automatically restored on
re-open.
- Data Export
- Can optionally include all secondary
Postcodes (eg GPO Boxes) when
exporting postcode selections.
- Data Import
- Supports multiple-column .CSV files.
- Header record in CSV recognised to
automatically create named columns.
- CSV import saved as default table for
column reselection anytime.
- Select any column to update thematic map
with just 1 click. (eg "Q1
Sales").
- Dynamic filtering to select the records
you want on the fly (eg "All,
Only this view, This territory..").
- Labelling
- Editing of all label attributes (such
as font, size, colour, bolding,
stretch..).
- Save and create sets of labels by name.
- Add any set of saved labels to any map
with just 1 click. (eg "Our
Office Locations..")
- New label expression to selectively pick
from list of possible suburb names.
- Map Views
- Save and create views by name.
- Jump to any named view with just 1 click.
(eg "My Sydney View..").
- Territory Manager
- Save and create named and colour coded
territories from any postcode selection.
- Show any territory on map with just 1
click (eg "The Northern
District").
- Territory Functions
- New label expressions for
whole-of-territory values to which a
given postcode belongs.
- Attributes are: Name, Total Value,
Minimum Value, Maximum Value, Average
Value.
- File Sharing
- All information saved as simple to manage
individual text files.
- Structured directory tree for easy
copying and sharing between
installations.
- Full control and easy external access to
all files individually or as a group (eg
Labels, Views..)
- Security
- This release will need to be unlocked for
use and a new automated online unlocking
option is available to select if you have
a current internet connection when the
package is opened for the first time -
just supply your pre-registered name and
password when prompted and the whole
procedure is done in seconds.
- Single User Licence versions now require
a local single user drive (eg C:)
for running. Any use on a shared or
network drive requires a network licence.
