Any more examples and
popular category suggestions?
Where can I do these
searches?
Pretty well anywhere you like,
the general search types are either IN a region or NEAR
something but are entirely optional.
A couple of examples of specific
search area are:
Shell optimax near Parramatta
McDonalds in NSW north coast
An example of where you want to
find something, but don't know where it is, or
want to find out are:
Provincial Road (finds
all "Provincial Roads" in the country)
024877 (find out where
024877 is..)
How do I use it?
Just type in your search using a
couple of common sense rules so we know what
you're after.
What are these
"common sense" rules?
If you just type in a
name we will tell you where you can find
things of that name, trying to show the
most obvious and relevant things first.
If that's a popular
business name, and that's all you give,
then you might get a lot of them!
If that's a street or
suburb name then chances are you'll get
what you want straight away.
If that's a phone number
then you will get the suburb for that
phone number.
Depending on how many
digits you enter we may even find an
exact business name match.
If you want to guide the
search and restrict it to some place then
add IN or NEAR followed by where you want
it to look.
Are IN and NEAR the same
thing?
No.
IN
If it's IN then it should be one
of the list of supported region names.
When using IN then only
matches wholly and completely IN that
region will be searched and returned.
Example region names are
types are
Specific region -
such as Eastern Suburbs,
Northern Beaches..
Generic metro -
such as Sydney South West,
Melbourne East..
Specific state-
such as NSW Central West, QLD
Far North
Generic state -
such as VIC North, NSW West,
QLD South East

NEAR
If it's NEAR then it can be any valid
search location, such as a suburb, street,
phone number or postcode.
